1. 'Live at Doncaster College, 24 January 2019'
"Back in January 2019, I was invited to give a performance for students studying music production at the Stainforth campus of Doncaster College. At the time I was just putting the finishing touches to the album 'Cotswold Stone for Castles in Space' so was looking for a different challenge... something that was less pretty or structured than the project I was finishing up with.
The result was essentially a semi improvised half hour set of tape loops, field recordings, running water and synth drones all fed through a bunch of guitar pedals.
There were a few hiccups during the performance itself: First, the water pendulum (a fancy name I use for a leaking bottle of water suspended over a mic’d up steel bowl) started splashing dangerously close to the electrical supply and had to be controlled with some strategically placed towels. Then poor connections on certain cheap cables meant that the signal from the loops playing on the four track (20 quid eBay steal) kept cutting out forcing me to utilise different outputs on the fly.
Listening back to the recording was a revelation and made me think about employing some of these techniques on a future project... something I’ll be looking to start at some point in 2020. This is presented in its raw state, recorded directly onto an Olympus LS 100 with just a touch of mastering from Jez from the Twelve Hour Foundation." MH

"He sits in a small room listening to their conversations and speaking to himself. He watches his own likeness reflected in the broadcast on the screen and recognises no-one." Sensory Leakage
