about

XIMES presents AIR CATHEDRAL

A welcome return to Sensory Leakage, Ximes' latest transcendental odyssey weaves together elements of Alice Coltrane, the contemporary British psych-drone underground and his own signature kaleidoscope of otherworldly textures. 'Air Cathedral' unfolds like a sacred rite, inviting listeners to wander through the ethereal realms of his sonic sanctuary. A soothing, hallucinogenic balm for your inner ears.

"Having been the first label to accept a demo of my music for release back in 2019 (Zener_04), and having since put out albums by my other projects Deathbird Stories and Far Golden Pavilions, Sensory Leakage has become somewhat of a spiritual home for my music. So, my most recent album under the XIMES moniker once again finds a fitting home with them, though this time a very different affair to those earlier endeavours. Musically, Air Cathedral encapsulates the more mature vison I had for this project, and though I’ve been working on new material since completing it, the tracks still feel to me as though I finally achieved the aesthetic I’d been working up to best here. The title aptly encapsulates the intention and the journey for me – perhaps you’ll know what I mean on hearing it. Of all the albums I’ve done, I am perhaps most fond of this one. It’s all very personal of course, though I hope the people who have supported XIMES so far will feel the same way." – X
